Two Types Of Wisdom

There are two types of wisdom in this world. There is the wisdom of the world and there is the wisdom of God. Let’s talk about what that means.

When we call wisdom worldly, it doesn’t mean that it is necessarily wrong. Worldly wisdom can be 100% right. However, it is flawed because it comes from a flawed source. Worldly wisdom can be right one day but dead wrong the next. You can’t rely on it because it’s not perfect or complete.

Godly wisdom comes from God who knows all and is never in error. God’s knowledge is infinite and eternal so godly wisdom is always true. God’s wisdom is true because God is Truth. Truth comes from Him.

The Bible tells us that God is a Creator who creates by speaking. When God speaks, He creates. Whatever He says literally HAS to be true. Truth is tied to the eternal nature of the God who never changes.

The impact of that statement is astounding. That means that God’s Word isn’t true because we believe it. His Word is true because He spoke it.

When we take that to its logical end, we can confidently say that God’s wisdom is perfect and complete and can never fail because God never changes. He is faithful and true and His Word stands forever.

Malachi 3:6

“For I, the LORD, do not change.”

James 1:17

“…the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.”

So, how do we acquire this wisdom? Over the next few days we’ll learn five ways to grow in the wisdom of God.
