The Prince Of Peace - Part 3

He came bringing peace into a world that was at war with Him, but that world rejected Him, attacked Him and tried to stop His message of peace by executing Him. That world is still fighting against peace today. You see, the world doesn’t understand real peace. It pursues wealth, war and power. That’s why it brought a sword to the very table that would save it.

Only Christ can bring peace to a world that is in bondage to darkness. He is the Light Of The World. We can pray for peace, work for it and do everything we can for it and hope for it, but we have to understand this: until Christ returns the world will always be at war with God.

You and I, however, can actually find real peace. Even while the world shakes its fist at Him, we can still experience the peace of God. That’s because the peace that the angels proclaimed wasn’t about human conflict. The peace that the angels were talking about was peace WITH HIM.

God didn’t send His messengers to tell us that we would never be able to fight one another again. That would be great but that’s not the war that God came to stop. God was announcing a desire to cease our hostilities in the war against Him. He came to call a truce in the war against Him so that He can place His peace in us.

That peace is real. It is lasting. Worldly peace is only a passing moment. Once we get over things we are right back at it again. God’s peace is unlike that. Once you find it, your life is different and the world changes right before your eyes. You become a new creature and you become one with our God and Father.

Do you have that peace? That’s really what Christmas is all about. It’s about you and me, surrendering to God - on His terms - and walking away from the evil that is at war with its own Maker.
