The Prince Of Peace - Part 2
The question, then, is which side are you on? Let me give you a hint: If you do not know the Prince of Peace, you are actually at war with Him. Did you know that? Here’s what James says.
James 4:4
“Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”
And Paul says it this way:
Romans 8:7-8
“…because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”
Here’s what that means: If you don’t know the Prince Of Peace, you will never truly understand what peace is. Christ is peace. Notice how I said that. I didn’t say He is peaceful or that He will bring peace (although those things are true). What I said is that He IS peace. Look at how Paul says it:
Ephesians 2:14-17
For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, … thus establishing peace … having put to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.”
I’ll continue this thought tomorrow.
