The Acts Of Worship - Tell (Part 1 of 2)
1 Chronicles 16:24
“Tell of His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.”
When we gather together to bring our worship to God, an exchange takes place. We give our worship to Him and He blesses us. This is what we were created for and that’s why worship is different. It’s not like the world because it is the opposite of the world.
The world puts us at the center and we live our lives with that frame of mind. Heaven is about God and worship reminds us that He must come to have first place in all things. His blessing is not a “reward” or a “pat on the back”. It is the natural outflowing of being in harmony with the Spirit of God.
When that blessing comes, there is only one response that is appropriate. We don’t hide God’s blessing nor do we refuse it or neglect it. We share it.
Thats right, we tell others about it. Why? Because worship is a corporate event and the more people there are, the more fun it becomes. I have stood in a stadium singing hymns with 55,000 other men and I can tell you that there is nothing else like it!
Look at this passage in Habakkuk:
Habakkuk 2:2
Then the LORD answered me and said, “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run.”
That verse is describing a messenger who receives God’s Word and literally runs to share it. There is an appointed time, a goal and the power of God that sees to it that it will not fail!
Do you ever walk into a worship service thinking of yourself as God’s messenger, just waiting to hear His Word so you can run out and share it? Tomorrow, we’ll look at that exact thing happening in the Gospel of John as someone’s life is changed through worship and they run to tell their whole village about God.
