The Acts Of Worship - Tell (Part 2 of 2)

That is what every worship service in every church should be like. We encounter Jesus and go tell others about it. We should leave our churches with Christ in our hearts, His Word in our mouths and the Holy Spirit leading us to someone who needs to hear about Jesus.

The Acts Of Worship - Tell (Part 2 of 2)

1 Chronicles 16:24

“Tell of His glory among the nations,

His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.”

She wasn’t expecting anything unusual. It was noon as she approached the well to collect her water for the day. She was “That woman” in her town and she wasn’t allowed to be around the others.

But something was different on this day. God was waiting for her. He was right there, standing by the well just waiting for her to arrive. When He asked for a drink, she snapped back at Him but He didn’t bat an eye. He just changed the subject, talking about Living Water. After drinking Living Water you never thirst again.

She asked for some but, instead, He told her all about her past. He knew her. She had never met Him but He knew the truth about her. He spoke about worship and said, “God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.”

All she could say is “I know that the Christ is coming”. He responded by saying: “I who speak to you am He.”

That woman was changed that day. We don’t know her name but we know that she ran into town to tell the whole village and they responded to Jesus.

That is what every worship service in every church should be like. We encounter Jesus and go tell others about it. We should leave our churches with Christ in our hearts, His Word in our mouths and the Holy Spirit leading us to someone who needs to hear about Jesus.

Now comes the hard part. Does that describe your worship? Why not? Maybe that’s a question worth pondering.

John 4:39

“From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified…”
