Five Steps Towards Godly Wisdom: Read And Pray (Part 2)

Psalms 25:4-5

Make me know Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day.

To be wise we must be connected to the Source Of All Wisdom. That, of course, is God. God is not only the Source of Wisdom, He IS Wisdom. Jesus said “I am the Way, The Truth and The Life.” The search for wisdom begins with a simple prayer of request from He who gives Wisdom. James tells us this:

James 1:5

“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

In Ephesians 1, Paul prays that believers eyes might be enlightened. How are they opened to Truth?

Ephesians 1:17

“…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.”

The seeker of Truth must come to God, humbly, and ask Him to help in the quest for Wisdom. God will honor that prayer.

Proverbs 8:12-17

“I, Wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverted mouth I hate. Counsel is Mine and sound wisdom. I am Understanding, power is Mine. By Me kings reign and rulers decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, all who judge rightly. I love those who love Me and those who diligently seek Me will find Me.”
