Why Pray?
God DOES answer prayer. He DOES listen to us and He DOES hear our hearts when we pray. But, prayer is not just for God. It is also for us. Prayer teaches us about God and reveals to us what He wants and what He desires. We will see more of that tomorrow.

Why pray?
As a pastor, I sit and talk with people during all walks of their lives. When good and bad things happen to people they want to either praise God or shake a fist at Him. You can guess which one I prefer.
The Bible clearly teaches the importance of prayer.
Pray in every situation (Phil. 4:6)
Pray continually (1 Thess. 5:16)
Devote yourselves to prayer (Col 4:2)
Be faithful in prayer (Rom. 12:12).
I have seen good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. Both of those experiences have led me to ask this question: “Why pray?”
Doesn’t God know how things are going to turn out? Why would He ask us to pray if He already knows the outcome? In fact, He knows what we are going to pray before we even pray it, so what does prayer do?
Over the next three days, we will look at three things that prayer accomplishes. So, let me say this first. This will not be a list of everything that prayer does. I’ll just be bringing attention to three specific things that we seem to overlook in prayer. I believe this:
