Why Is Jesus The Only Way To God? (Part 2 of 2)

The Bible is clear that we are not on the same page with God. He is holy and we are not. A perfect God does not allow sin into His presence. But, we are all sinful. See the problem?

The solution is that we must be made holy, somehow. Our sin must be removed. How can this happen?

We can’t remove our sin. Only God can do that. So, God became one of us, lived a perfect life, gave us an example to follow and died for our sins. It was only through this sacrifice that our sins could be removed.

Here is how sacrifice works: a sacrifice has to be acceptable to the One receiving it. In our case, God identified the sacrifice and then actually provided it! God provided the only sufficient and adequate person for the job: His Son.

It is not that Mohammed wasn't sincere, or that Buddha wasn't a nice person or that they didn't have some nice things to say along the way. That is not the issue.

They can’t remove sin.

There had to be a sacrifice and that sacrifice had to be perfect and sinless and chosen by God. A sacrifice that would lay down His life for us. Only Jesus did that.

The next time you hear someone say that Christians need to "open up" or "be more accepting of others," remember that we are not being narrow-minded or bigoted. Nor are we degrading others. We are just recognizing that there was only one person that was chosen to be that sacrifice. We are thankful that God reached out to us and provided the way for us to get back to Him. That way is Jesus.

John 3:17

“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”
