The Revealing Word — Making His Presence Known
God is always there, we can find Him in His Word.

The Revealing Word — Making His Presence Known
One of the greatest sounds in the world is the sound of a baby laughing. Babies are wonderful to play with because everything is new to them … even if they’ve already seen it before!
I can still remember playing peek-a-boo with my children when they were very young. They would sit on my lap, looking right at me. I’d cover their eyes and then uncover them—and they were absolutely thrilled to see me every single time!
I was right there the whole time, but when their eyes were opened, they were genuinely surprised to find me still there. It’s much like this with the Word of God. It’s right there in front of you every day, day and night. All you have to do is read it.
In his book The Pursuit of God, A. W. Tozer writes about how God can seem distant to those who seek Him—yet He is near all along:
“We need never shout across the spaces to an absent God. He is nearer than our own soul, closer than our most secret thoughts.”
In 2 Chronicles, we learn what it takes to open our eyes and see the God who has been standing before us all along:
2 Chronicles 15:15
“All Judah rejoiced … for they had sworn with their whole heart and had sought Him earnestly, and He let them find Him. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.”
All of the elements for finding God in His Word are right there:
• Engaging with the whole heart
• Seeking Him earnestly
• God opening our eyes
• Reaping the blessings of His Word.
God is always there, we can find Him in His Word. How do we invite that moment of revelation? The Bible says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8)
We draw near to God by reading His Word—by listening to His voice, bringing our whole heart before Him, and earnestly seeking His presence.
Do this, and you will find Him.
Psalm 145:18
“The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.”
