Open My Eyes
He is not hard to find, you just have to know where to look.

Open My Eyes
In the book of Ephesians, Paul writes a small letter about the deep truths of God. Ephesians is not easy to grasp, but it is so very rewarding when you pierce through its wall.
In chapter 1, we read about the mystery of God’s will, redemption, adoption into His kingdom, choice, grace... way too much for me to do justice to here. But, in verse 18, it reveals the heart of God to us. Paul tells us about his own passion for understanding these deep truths:
Ephesians 1:18
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.”
What does he mean? Paul is telling us that we won’t understand these deep truths without God revealing Himself to us. We can only learn about God what God wants us to know about Himself. God wants us to search for Him. Remember when Jesus said this:
Matthew 7:7
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Those who seek God must come to Him and ask Him to reveal Himself. He is not hard to find, you just have to know where to look. Once you get to that point in your life, you will find that God is not only willing to be found, but He has been eagerly waiting for you to find Him. In fact, you will discover that HE has been reaching out for YOU.
You are actually responding to His call for you to come to Him. It was Him seeking you all this time. Back in Ephesians, Paul prays:
Ephesians 1:17
“...that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.”
So, how do you find Him? You ask God to reveal Himself to you and then look for Him. Where would one look to find God?
Romans 10:8
“But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching.”
Look in the Bible. Read the Word. That is where you find God. Read the Word and find a church that preaches it. God is calling you there to hear His Word and to be among people who know Him.
