A Challenge for Christians: Walking Through the Ten Days of Awe (2)

This week, we will give you a plan for how to use the coming days leading up to the Day of Atonement - to make this time meaningful and honoring to God.

The Day of Atonement is the focal point of our faith in God. Use this time to prepare your heart for the Holy Day of forgiveness.

Psalms 119:15

I will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways.

Monday & Tuesday: Serve Others in Love

• Read Galatians 5:13–14.

• Do one act of service each day that no one expects, and don’t announce it.

• Let it be a hidden offering to God, reflecting the heart of Christ.

Challenge: Give generously to someone in need, whether time, money, or encouragement.

Wednesday: Fix Your Eyes on Jesus, Our Atonement

• Read Hebrews 9:11–15.

• Reflect on how Christ is your High Priest and final sacrifice.

• Spend time in worship, thanking Him for covering your sins by His blood.

Challenge: Write a prayer, poem or song of gratitude for Christ’s atoning work.

Day of Atonement: Anticipate His Coming

• Read Revelation 21:1–4 and Titus 2:11–13.

• Imagine standing before Christ when He returns.

• Ask: Am I living as one who is ready for His appearing?

• Close the Ten Days by rededicating yourself to live watchfully, faithfully, and joyfully.

Challenge: Think and pray about communion and what it means. Remember that it is a declaration that you are covered by Christ’s blood and eagerly awaiting His return.

The Goal

The Ten Days of Awe are not about ritual but about resetting our hearts. They remind us that:

• Sin is serious.

• Grace is costly.

• Jesus is coming soon.

Let us live these days with repentance, reconciliation, renewal, service, gratitude, and hope—so that we are found faithful when the trumpet sounds.
