8 Things To Be Thankful For - God Is Still On His Throne

The problem we face most often in our earthly home is that we are separated from God. These physical bodies draw us away from Him and we stumble and fall every day. God watches from heaven but He can seem so far away and so unreachable.

The truth, however, is far different from that. God is the Author of this world and He rules over it from His throne in heaven. He is sovereign and in control.

Here’s why that makes a difference for you and me. It means that God is active and involved in this world. After all, this is His world and He created it for a reason. He loves it and because He is on that throne, His promises are backed up by His power. His love for us is not empty or meaningless. He loves us and has the ability to care for us.

I Chronicles 29:11-12

“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O LORD, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.”

That tells us that there is nothing out of God’s control or authority. God knows everything that happens and since there are no limitations with Him, nothing is beyond His reach.

We are loved and cared for by the God who made us and who controls this world and His stated agenda is to love you and strengthen you! That is worthy of your thankfulness this Thanksgiving!
