8 Things To Be Thankful For - God Hears You

Have you ever had somebody say, “You’re not listening to me?” I wonder how many times we have said that to God? Have you ever prayed a prayer over and over that has gone unanswered? Have you ever set your heart on something and asked God for it only to feel like he’s not even hearing you?

You are not alone. The men and women of the Bible have experienced that feeling on many occasions. King David once cried out:

Psalms 13:1

“How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?”

Naomi and Habakkuk said this:

Ruth 1:20-21

“…the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me. I went out full, but the LORD has brought me back empty.”

Habakkuk 1:2

“How long, O LORD, will I call for help, and You will not hear? I cry out to You, ‘Violence!’ Yet You do not save.”

Many, many men and women in the Bible, looked for God in their emptiness and loneliness, and went through stretches of time where it seemed like He was not there at all.

But He was.

You see, the presence of God is not a feeling. Feelings come and go, depending on our own moods and situations. But God is not changed by those things. God’s presence is a promise from a God who is faithful, good and able.

God will ALWAYS be there, and He will ALWAYS hear the cries of those who belong to Him. The Bible tells us that He is close to us when we are brokenhearted. It says He will never leave us or forsake us. He will be with us wherever we go. (Psalms 34:18 / Hebrews 13:5 / Joshua 1:9)

The Word of God is absolutely clear: God hears and He cares. Thank you, Lord, for being there even when I feel like You are not.

Isaiah 41:10

“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
