When God Showed Up for You (Part 2)
Romans 5:6–8; Hebrews 4:14–16
It’s one thing to believe that God shows up throughout history. It’s another to believe that He shows up for you. But that is the heart of the gospel. God does not merely reveal Himself to humanity in general. He reveals Himself to specific people.
He meets individuals by name, addresses specific fears, confronts personal sin. He restores wounded hearts. He calls reluctant servants. He reassures trembling faith.
Again and again, God steps into real lives—not when people have it together, but when they are confused, afraid, resistant, ashamed, or broken. And the clearest proof that God shows up for us is this: He came knowing the cost.
He showed up knowing He would be misunderstood, rejected, lied about and betrayed. He showed up knowing the cross was waiting.
Still, He came.
This means you are never reaching out into the dark, hoping God might notice. You are responding to a God who has already moved toward you.
Because God showed up:
• Your suffering is seen
• Your sin is addressed
• Your doubts are met
• Your weaknesses are turned into strength
The God who shows up does not wait until you are worthy. He comes with grace, mercy and love to make something new of a hurt and broken you.
Have you ever assumed God would never be there for you? Have you ever felt like God was way over there? Unapproachable? Uncaring? Unwilling?
He was never absent. He was always there, waiting for you to see Him. All this time, He has been nearer than you realized. He showed up for you.
Isaiah 41:10
“Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Tomorrow: what that means and what we know about God from this series.
