What’s The Point Of It All?
That is what worship is all about. We put our own self aside and give glory to God, kneeling before His throne. Christianity is not about what I can gain. It’s about how much I can give back to the One who reached out and saved me.

What’s The Point?
If someone were to ask you, “What’s the point in being a Christian?” what would you say?
It seems like there is always a percentage of believers who think that our main goal is to get into Heaven. Now, that’s a fine benefit, don’t get me wrong. I am thrilled at the thought that Jesus saved me and has promised me eternal life. But, is that my one, true goal? Is that really the primary motivation of my faith? I think not.
Let me tell you what really motivates me. It is the thought that God loved me so much, that He never turned away from me, even when I was full of myself and I was ignoring Him.
When I think about His love for me in spite of all of that, my true desire has absolutely nothing to do with what I can get out of it. I find that what really has become important to me is that I want to give to Him, more and more. My life becomes an expression of love.
David had those same thoughts:
Psalms 144:3-10
“O Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You think of him? Man is like a mere breath; his days are like a passing shadow. Bow Your heavens, O Lord, and come down... stretch forth Your hand from on high; rescue me and deliver me out of great waters... I will sing a new song to You, O God; upon a harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You, Who gives salvation to kings...”
That is what worship is all about. We put our own self aside and give glory to God, kneeling before His throne. Christianity is not about what I can gain. It’s about how much I can give back to the One who reached out and saved me.
Psalms 8:1
“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!”
