Time
Even our worship services in our churches are begun at a certain time … usually. As I am writing this I have looked at the clock several times to make sure I get my wife up “on time.”

Time (by Tim Klink of Prison Discipleship Ministry)
Revelation 10:6 “… there should be time no longer.”
Have you ever stopped to consider how many devices we possess that show us what time it is? We wear wrist watches, the time is displayed on our cell phones, there are countless numbers of clocks in our homes, our cars, our schools, our places of work, and even in our churches. What is even a more impressive thought is how many times a day we look at them to see what time it is. I wake up several times a night and the only thing I do is look at the clock and rejoice that I have more time to sleep.
Our lives are ruled by time. We make appointments for certain times, we eat at certain times not because we are hungry, but simply because “it is time to eat.” We go to work and must be there at a certain time or we are penalized, and we cannot leave until a certain time that is appointed to us. Even our worship services in our churches are begun at a certain time … usually. As I am writing this I have looked at the clock several times to make sure I get my wife up “on time.”
We set alarms for various events that are important to us, and for the most part we abide by those alarms. We even go so far as to factor in the “five minute snooze button” so we feel like we have “cheated” time. My mom was always saying that she never gets everything done in a day, and I find myself wishing for two more hours in a day with the thought that I might succeed in accomplishing what she never could.
Time has been given to us by God in His marvelous creation so our lives would be productive for His glory, including times of rest. We read in Genesis about the creation of time, and we also read in Revelation of the end of the measure of time. During the existence of time we learn much about the character of God through His Son Jesus Christ, and throughout the end of time the believer dwells with them endlessly. The things that we allow such control over our lives that we have difficulty finding the time to pray will fade into eternal fellowship with God. Use what God has given you for His glory today.
