The Truth About Truth
God’s Word is how God makes things happen.

The Truth About Truth
Truth is not just some abstract idea or a theory for us to debate. Truth is real and it makes a real difference in a real world.
God is constantly speaking to His creation, and it is His Word that conveys His Truth to us. His Word is Truth. It is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and it goes out and accomplishes what God sends it to do (Isaiah 55:11).
So when God said, “Let there be light,” light came into existence—even though there had never been light before (Gen. 1:3).
When God said, “Let dry land appear,” dry land appeared (Gen. 1:9).
When God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures,” living creatures came into being (Gen. 1:24).
God’s Word is how God makes things happen. What does that mean to you and me? Look at this verse:
1 Thessalonians 2:13
“When… you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.”
When God says He loves you… He loves you. When God forgives you… you are forgiven. When God says He can fix your marriage, heal your pain, or restore your relationship with someone… God’s Truth can do that.
Do you have a Bible nearby? Pick it up and open it. Take a look at it. Hold it in your hands. That Bible is the Word of God. It is God’s Truth, and it has the power to change your life.
This is why Christians are so devoted to it. We read it, study it, honor it, and obey it. It is God’s Word for us, and it is His Truth. God gave us the Bible for a reason—and it was not to decorate our homes or to sit on a shelf or in a drawer.
Read your Bible. God’s Word will not let you down. If you don’t know where to start, begin with the Gospel of John or the Psalms.
Just get started. Read it… today.
Romans 1:16
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.”
