The Parables Of Jesus - The Three Feasts: Part 1
In Luke 14, Jesus takes the opportunity to teach us some important truths about God and His Kingdom.
There are three feast parables and they occur back-to-back because they complement each other in explaining truths about God and His people.
The people of God were chosen for a specific purpose. Their charge was to be a light to the rest of the world. The world is lost and dark so God reached out and chose one nation to be His people. They were to show God’s love to the rest of the world. But, they didn’t do that. Instead, they became smug and complacent, isolating themselves from other nations, rather than leading them to God.

Over the next few days, we will look at each of the three parables. You will truly appreciate what Jesus has to say to all of us about how we act in front of others and how treat those who need God the most.
Let me just briefly explain what is going on here. Jesus had been bumping heads with the other teachers for quite a while. They were rejecting Him and did not agree with His teaching. They thought that they had an exclusive hold on God’s Truth.
Jesus had other ideas. More on that tomorrow.
