The Lord’s Prayer - "Our Debts And Trespasses”
Is there anything more urgent, more pressing, more life-changing and freeing than this? What could possibly be more beautiful than the reality that the wall between you and God has been torn down and we are able to pray to Him again?

The Lord’s Prayer - "Our Debts And Trespasses”
When Jesus talks about sin, two things become immediately obvious: we are sinful and God is not. That causes a problem. A holy God despises and hates sin. So, we have this issue to deal with:
Isaiah 59:2
‘But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.”
How can we be praying people if God does not hear our prayers? More importantly, how can we change that? How can we become sinless prayers?
Well, of course, that’s why Jesus came to earth in the first place. There are two Bible verses that when read back to back are game changers for every human being alive:
1 Peter 3:18
“For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God…”
Isaiah 53:5
“But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.’
Those two verses were written centuries apart, one before Jesus came and one after. They both tell of the amazing gift the Jesus gave to you and me. We call that gift reconciliation. He cleansed the unholy (that’s us) to bring us closer to the holy (that’s God). The book of Hebrews tells us what that means:
Hebrews 4:16
“Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
I’ll ask you this one question and I want you to pray on this all day today: is there anything more urgent, more pressing, more life-changing and freeing than this? What could possibly be more beautiful than the reality that the wall between you and God has been torn down and we are able to pray to Him again?
Thats why we call the Gospel “The Good News!”
