The Lord’s Prayer - “In Heaven”
Heaven, ultimately, is our goal. It is where we want to spend our eternity. But, Jesus said that it is not just a wide open place for anyone to simply walk into. In fact, there is a gate and that gate is narrow. To enter heaven one has to pass through it.

The Lord’s Prayer - “In Heaven”
In the first line of The Lord's Prayer, Jesus tells us that God is our Father and that "He is". And then we learn about WHERE God is. He is in heaven.
It's not easy to talk about heaven anymore. Most people don't believe in it and if you mention a place called heaven, people look at you like you have two heads. But, heaven was very real to Jesus. I mean, heaven is where He came from. He must have known something about it.
We call it the dwelling place of God, but, just as important is that it will one day be our dwelling place, too.
John 14:2
“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; I go to prepare a place for you.”
Heaven, ultimately, is our goal. It is where we want to spend our eternity. But, Jesus said that it is not just a wide open place for anyone to simply walk into. In fact, there is a gate and that gate is narrow. To enter heaven one has to pass through it.
Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
People will be turned away from heaven, so it’s pretty important to know something about that gate, isn’t it? How do we find it and then how do we get through it?
John 14:6
"Jesus said to him, 'I am The Way, and The Truth, and The Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.'"
The path to heaven is through Jesus. He is the Gate. He came for this purpose, to show us how to walk into heaven someday. Will you be able to make that journey? Are you certain that there will be a place waiting there for you?
There is a way to be sure about eternity. When you give your life to Jesus and become a child of God, your life changes in such a way that heaven becomes real and certain. If you don’t know the answer to the question about heaven, Jesus gave His life to open that door for you. It’s that simple.
John 10:9
“I am The Door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved.”
