The Acts Of Worship - Bring An Offering (Part 1 of 2)
It’s part of what worship is. We bring our hearts, our minds, our bodies and our families to worship and that is awesome. But, that’s not really what a sacrifice is, is it? Showing up and participating is minimal effort.

The Acts Of Worship - Bring An Offering (Part 1 of 2)
1 Chronicles 16:29
“Bring an offering, and come before Him; worship the LORD in holy array.”
Nothing in the church is more polarizing than preaching about giving. It’s a very difficult subject to handle. I grew up in a time when there were TV Evangelists on just about every channel and all they wanted was my money. That was the reality the church faced.
Many of those TV preachers were just greedy con artists who put their own wealth and prestige above the good of the church. They used God’s church for personal gain. The damage that they caused is incalculable because they created a whole generation of Americans that now distrust the church and its leaders whenever they talk about giving.
So, go back to the top of this message and read that verse again. It clearly teaches us to “Bring an offering” to God. It’s part of what worship is. We bring our hearts, our minds, our bodies and our families to worship and that is awesome. But, that’s not really what a sacrifice is, is it? Showing up and participating is minimal effort.
I used to work with a ministry that taught men how to work. We taught them how to fill out applications, answer certain questions and how to do a job interview. I’ve had employers tell me that all they were looking for was a guy who would show every day on time. If a guy could do that, he had a job with them.
Tomorrow: what does that have to do with worship? How does God view our giving?
