Thank You, Jesus!
The problem lies in the tension that is created by men and women who want to honor God but who live in a world filled with sin.

Thank You, Jesus!
In the book of Romans every chapter is a masterpiece of theology. Millions of books, articles and sermons have been written on these verses.
Romans 6 is about sanctification; the process of becoming what God wants us to be. Then, in chapter 7, we come to one of the most moving passages of the entire Bible. It is the story of Paul’s heart, sharing his journey of struggling with his own sin.
Seldom do we get such a clear picture of the humanness of the great leaders of the Bible. Paul, the Apostle’s Apostle chosen to carry God’s Word into the world - who literally founded the church - writes freely about his brokenness over his own fleshly, sinful nature. The law, he says, shows us how broken we are.
Romans 7:7
“I would not have come to know sin except through the Law.”
There is a struggle in each one of us to do good. We want to do good but we find ourselves failing even when we try our hardest.
Romans 7:15-16;19-20
“For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate. But if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with the Law ... for the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want.”
The problem lies in the tension that is created by men and women who want to honor God but who live in a world filled with sin. It constantly pulls us away from God and creates this inner struggle between Good and evil. In exasperation, Paul cries out, “Who will save me from this wretched body of death?”
His answer is exactly what God wants us every one of us to know. The whole chapter is leading us to this verse:
Romans 7:25
“Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!“
That is why we worship Jesus. He is our Savior. In a world where we constantly stumble and fall, Jesus is there to pick us up, dust us off and send us back into the game!
Thanks, Jesus! You are worthy!
