Practice Makes Perfect - Never Stumble

Look at that list. Can you accomplish that on your own? Of course not. I can’t do it and neither can you. The only way to live a life like that is to let God into your heart and to let Him take over the reigns. We call that giving your life to Jesus and it is the only thing that will produce that kind of a life.

Practice Makes Perfect - Never Stumble

Two weeks ago, we started looking at the book of II Peter and his formula for have a meaningful and purposeful life. How do we do that? According to Peter, it happens like this:

2 Peter 1:5-7

“...in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.”

If we are living our life like this, two things will happen. First, you will have Christ in your heart.

Look at that list. Can you accomplish that on your own? Of course not. I can’t do it and neither can you. The only way to live a life like that is to let God into your heart and to let Him take over the reigns. We call that giving your life to Jesus and it is the only thing that will produce that kind of a life.

Once we do that this is the promise that God gives us:

2 Peter 1:8-10

“For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful...for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble.”

Did you catch that? Read it again. This is the second thing we will experience. With Christ in you, and with you living the life He desires you to live, you will never stumble.

You didn’t think that was possible, did you? Maybe this is what you have been missing all this time. Makes it sound like it’s worth trying, doesn’t it?
