Just be Happy!

On this day, I'm not going to talk about anything deep or controversial.

There will be no debating, no thought-provocating insights, no deep theological inquiry or exposition of scripture. You're not going to read anything like that here today. Today is for something else.

I just want to say how happy I am that Jesus saved me! I need to spend a day just remembering what He did for me. He made me a new man.

I didn't do anything to deserve it. I am no better than anybody else. I just came to grips with who I was and what I was like and I turned all that over to God.

He made me a new creature through the cross. Each day that I live is different, every face that I see is beautiful, every word that I hear is a blessing, every hour that I live is a privilege. Every breath that I take is a gift.

Why? Because He has changed me and He is in me. Almost 50 years ago, He became a part of me. Now, I look through His eyes at the world and I love people with His heart instead of my own. I have a song on my tongue every day.

So, no great depths of theology today ... just praise to my God who reached down, dusted me off and made something worthwhile out of the rubbish that I had to offer.
