Faith’s Hall Of Fame: Isaac
In all of scripture, no other person more strongly resembles Christ. In fact, many think that Isaac pre-figures Christ, yet his story is almost entirely transitory between his father and his son.

Faith’s Hall Of Fame: Isaac
Hebrews 11:20
“By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau, even regarding things to come.”
Something that you should know about the Hall Of Fame Of Faith is that there are 3 very significant names that are father-son-grandson. They are called the Patriarchs and our faith was built upon their stories and actions.
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob dominate the book of Genesis. The story of Abraham starts in Genesis 11 and Jacob dies in chapter 50. Within those chapters, it is the story of Isaac that is most often used to point to Christ. He was the promised son, the antithesis to Ishmael. It was from his line that the Messiah would be born. His bride was a beautiful picture of the church - the bride of Christ.
In all of scripture, no other person more strongly resembles Christ. In fact, many think that Isaac pre-figures Christ, yet his story is almost entirely transitory between his father and his son. His early life is overshadowed by Abraham and his later years, dominated by Jacob and Esau. Only about 2 chapters separate the death of Abraham and the birth of Jacob.
Oddly, we find the same thing in Hebrews. A mere 11 words tells us Isaac’s place in the faith HOF.
It’s an eerie parallel to the incredibly brief life of Jesus. No other person ever had a greater impact on the human race than Jesus, yet He lived on this earth only 33 years.
Great faith is great no matter how many years it takes to unfold or how many words are used to tell the story. Isaac’s faith paved the road that made the Gospel possible.
